I have a deep dark secret I'm going to admit. For the first few years of my daughters' lives, I was giving them haircuts. Really, really, really bad haircuts. The worst part (besides the crooked bangs) was when my youngest daughter decided to mimic me and gave herself a haircut. The night before her pre-school pictures!!!! That was the last straw for my hubby who told me I was talented in many areas but NOT cutting hair and that he was having an intervention. He actually begged me to stop. The girls not only got their haircut properly but had a great time too. They were so excited because they both went into the Tween room. You didn't even have to ask them to hold their heads up during their haircuts because they were thrilled to be considered "big girls" (they're 7 and 5 so it was a really big deal). As the lovely girl cut their hair she asked who was previously cutting it because it was obvious that it was not a professional. She was sweet and smiled as she shook her head ever so slightly when I fessed up and admitted it was me (although I was tempted to blame it on my hubby). I found out that I was NOT the only one who did this and she let me know she could fix my "work". After the girls got their haircuts the fun really began (as you can see from the picture of Emma all dressed up). Both girls played dress up and I couldn't get them out of the store. They both loved it and can't wait to go back which is my plan for this weekend for a much needed bang trim. I did indeed learn my lesson.
