Sharon's food pantry has been open this past year to help neighbor in the Rockville Centre community. Sharon Sheppard, the center's assistant director, works with Rena Riback and Judy Rattner, of the Anti-Racism Project, a Rockville Centre-based nonprofit to help families in need.
They are open one day a week now and hope to open up a second day if more donations come in. They have many donations during holidays, but other times are in need of more donations.
Residents can make donations to Sharon’s Food Pantry by dropping off items at the MLK Center, at 150 N. Centre Ave. #2, on Friday mornings between 8:30 and 11, or at the Anti-Racism Project, at 30 Seaman Ave.,RVC, anytime.
Monetary donations in the form of checks can be sent to the Anti-Racism Project address. All donations go toward the purchase of meat, produce and other food items. For more information, email antiracismprojectli@gmail.com.
