Girls Night Out

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day.  This past weekend, I had a fantastic and MUCH needed Girls Night Out at my neighbor, Lisa's house.  She invited all the ladies in the neighborhood and I had a blast getting to know some women who I see everyday at drop off/pick up that I've never had a chance to talk to.  She served wonderful food and great wine!  My childhood friend, Kim, who is "my person" (a quote from Grey's Anatomy) does a ...

Take this refresher course and be sure your kids are extra ...

Do you bake most things from scratch so you can control the ingredients? Chances are no, unless you have a child or family member with a life-threatening food allergy.

It is estimated that 15 million Americans have food allergies and there has been a dramatic increase in the last few years by ...

The Story of Miss Grace

A mom spreading awareness about Melanoma/Skin cancer

May is melanoma/skin cancer awareness month. For us, we are aware of it on a daily basis.

I took Grace (our youngest of 3 kids) to see her doctor about a bump on her arm. Everyone kept telling us it was nothing more than a wart. I'm no doctor but it was really bothering me and I had never seen a wart grow like this was. It was obviously bothersome to her because she was picking at it and this caused it to bleed.

The nurse practitioner agreed ...

New Tip #46 - Sweep It Up

  1. Phantom Electric: This is not from an episode of Scooby Doo. It's the electric still being used when all your appliances are plugged in but not actually turned on. I unplug all my appliances when I'm not using them.
  2. Kitchen Towels: I use so much less paper towels now that I bought kitchen towels. It's amazing how much money I've saved and how fewer rolls I buy.
  3. Shower time: I'm not going to tell you not to bathe or to shut off the water when ...
